Mr. Todd Ojala Named as Principal of Horizon MAP School

The Horizon School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Todd Ojala as the new Principal of HMAP School commencing with the 2025-2026 school year. Mr. Ojala will continue with his principalship with Vauxhall High School in conjunction as principal at HMAP.

"I am thrilled to accept the opportunity to serve as the Principal of Vauxhall HMAP School. My teaching journey began 30 years ago at Kehewin School near Bonnyville, Alberta. After two years there, I moved to Cessford, Alberta, where I taught for three years before pursuing my goal of becoming an administrator. That path led me to Vauxhall, where I served as Vice-Principal for four years before becoming Principal of Vauxhall High School—a role I have proudly held for the past 21 years.

I am always eager to embrace new challenges and opportunities that foster my growth as both an educator and a leader. Having had the privilege of teaching HMAP students, in the past, in Physical Education, I look forward to working with the students, staff, and parents at HMAP to continue providing exceptional educational experiences for our students and the community.

My wife, Ana, and I are blessed with six children and four grandchildren, with another grandchild arriving in August—a joy we eagerly anticipate. Our family and faith are at the heart of our lives. Personally, I have a deep passion for sports, though I now enjoy them primarily as a spectator and a coach. I was a founding member of the Vauxhall Academy of Baseball and have proudly served as its President since 2006. Teaching and working with youth have always been a source of great fulfillment for me, and I am excited to begin this next chapter with HMAP.
