Student Services - Behaviour Consultant
Laura began September 2013 with Horizon School Division in the newly created role of Educational Behavior Consultant. She has a Bachelor of Professional Arts Degree in Human Services and a Diploma in Child and Youth Care. Laura has been working in the non-profit sector for the past 15 years, mainly in the role of family support for individuals caring for someone affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Laura also works for Lethbridge College, having taught Behavior Management courses as well as courses on FASD. Supporting positive behavior in schools fits with Laura's own philosophy that there is "no such thing as a bad kid", and she very much enjoys helping individuals discover ways to support individuals that may be struggling with learning and behaving in the classroom. Laura lives in Coaldale with her husband of 30 years. They have three adult children.
